As the shadows lengthen
I hold you in my heart
And, as you pass to God’s embrace
Renewed: for that imparts

A light that guides you homeward
A light that never harms
A light that always leads us forth
To peace within God’s arms

For we forget our wholeness
Our loss turns day to night
Yet never out of reach is hope:
Our hearts contain a light!

Now you, with friends and family
Who’ve passed, who’ve gone before
Your joy and peace brings comfort from
The light beyond life’s door
