but if (in one day)
God’s devise
created paths
that we design
unnobled hearts
can lose their way,
with darkness fill,
and God malign.
then if (in one day)
children’s dreams
contain the dust
that birth such stars
as form and grow:
a firmament
that lights their paths
and guides afar.
and if (in one day)
hearts suppose
that others’ hopes
led them astray
their stars can always
guide them back –
returning to
their star-lit way.
and thus (in one day)
hopes are freed
from closing, withering,
dark’ning days
heart’s light can shine
– illumined path
and soothe, embraced
by Source’s gaze.
now if: (in one day)
joyless paths
cause us to raise
our hooded gaze
we’ll see our firmament again
that starlight’s course
fulfills our days.
