I have rendered this monster immobile

I have rendered this monster immobile,
stolen its life with fire and water
placed him like a trinket
mutely standing
in stony embarrassment
with expressions I have left him.
these are my nightmares,
expiation of childhood terrors,
where trolls have lived
my hands may now mold,
and I feel the forms of earth,
fiercely burned and annealed
(molecules driven
into painful dance)
this quietness, this dragon of fear,
newly silent in stone.
