Standing on the shores of the Sea of Galilee
I know surely that I’ve found my home
Can’t live my life without bringing all of me
Leave behind the emptiness that I have known.
I see in the waves that the tide is turning
I see in the dawn of a new day’s start
Now I think I know why I’ve felt such a yearning
Now I think I know how to use my heart.
Someone calls to me, calls across the ages
Beckons to me now that this love is real
Calls across the lake through the words of sages
In my heart is love, and this love can heal.
I see in the waves that the tide is turning
I see in the dawn of a new day’s start
Now I think I know why I’ve felt such a yearning
Now I think I know how to use my heart.
In this time of trial, tribulation
I can hide my eyes or choose to embrace
How to help the needy in our world, our nation
An open heart will make this world a better place.
I see in the waves that the tide is turning
I see in the dawn of a new day’s start
Now I think I know why I’ve felt such a yearning
Now I think I know how to use my heart.
In my heart I stand on the shores of Galilee
Contemplating how to challenge fear
With a loving heart I know I’ll be all I can be
Sea and sun and sky and love: my place is here.
I see in the waves that the tide is turning
I see in the dawn of a new day’s start
Now I think I know why I’ve felt such a yearning
Now I think I know how to use my heart.
Now I think I know why I’ve felt such a yearning
Now I think I know how to use my heart.
